We found Michael Copeland to be helpful and reliable. He went the extra mile to respond to any needs or questions that we had.
We really enjoyed our stay at his guest house. It’s spacious, quiet, clean, and fully equipped. Nicely decorated, and in good repair. Comfy beds, big windows in all the rooms, airy and cool. The shower has hot water:) Pretty landscaping on the property. The house has great views of the the lake and volcano, and a hiking trail in the back, good for viewing wildlife.
The location is quiet, rural and private, in a small cluster of homes by the lake. However, there are services nearby that we could walk to. These are a rustic lodge a few blocks down the road with a restaurant, pool, mailbox, etc. Rancho Margot is a half mile down the road, which is an ecologically sustainable ranch/resort with internet access and organic meals. “Pizza John’s,”run by a friendly expat, is a few blocks away where we had homemade ice cream and pizza. The town of El Castillo is also within walking distance, and has a small store and cafe.
